Our Production Staff (Doug and Dave Cossette) have over 30 years experience in food processing. The Cossette Brothers' father, Andrew, started roasting soy and sunflowers in the early 1960's. Most of the processing innovations in the in-shell sunflower seed business were developed by the Cossettes. The type of roast currently used across the industry by most of the market leaders (including the model of roaster, etc) was developed by them. Over the past 30 years, the Cossette Brothers have roasted and flavored (private label) for almost every significant in-shell brand in the world. Now, as part of Dakota Valley Products, Inc, the Cossette Brothers are bringing their skill and experience to our own brands, direct to the consumer. We utilize two Patent Pending unique processes in our own plant to produce Sumseeds® Energized Sunflower Seeds. More innovative products made with unique processes are coming soon!
